AOM opens Second office in Rochester, NY!

Arizona Optical Metrology is meeting the growing demand for precision optical metrology with a new office in Rochester, NY.

Cormic Merle has joined AOM as the Director of Metrology Systems and will manage the new east coast office.  Cormic comes to AOM with 20 years’ experience developing  metrology solutions for optics and optical systems in the 1+ meter class, most recently with L3 Harris and Kodak.

His experience includes:

  • The design of the Center of Curvature Optical Assembly (COCOA) for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) cryogenic testing completed at NASA JSFC.
  • The design, build, and execution of the metrology system used to measure the surface of the 3.4 meter diameter secondary mirror for the Vera C. Rubin (LSST) telescope.
  • Is the inventor/co-inventor on 18 patents.

Cormic’s team will help AOM customers implement complete metrology systems that optimize operational efficiency as well as measurement accuracy.
