A cylinder CGH creates cylindrical wavefront for testing cylindrical surfaces. Each cylinder CGH is able to test a family of cylindrical surfaces of similar F/# but different sizes, very muck like the Transmission Spheres for testing spherical surfaces, but different than a typical CGH which is designed and fabrcated for testing a specific surface only. As such, cylindrical CGHs can be standardized in terms of aperture sizes and F/#s, again similar to the Transmission Spheres.
